Why do people start using Crystal meth?

Crystal meth is a very addictive drug, just like most drugs are. When it is used, a chemical called dopamine is released which brings the user a feeling of pleasure and happiness. Crystal meth

users feel confident and energetic. Users of the drug will soon become addicted and wanting to feel

that rush again. After using the drug continuously, the user builds up a tolerance which means that they

will need higher doses of the drug to get the same high. The higher the dose, the higher the risks.

Some people also use Crystal meth for weight loss. Some former Crystal meth users said they tried it to lose weight,

they said that it made them lose around 7kg within the first week of using it.

- picking at skin and hair

- a lot of twitching, facial tics

- dilated pupils and rapid eye movement

- dry lips and mouth

- insomnia

- aggresive behaviour

- paranoia (hearing or seeing things that aren't there or feel treathened easily)

- depression

- panic attacks

- irritated easily

- bad tempered

Some symptoms are:

- weight loss, which can affect their growth and overall health.

- problems with memory and thinking, which affects their school performance

- anxiety, depression and other mental problems. Once the drug wears off, the user will be left feeling extremely down.

- loss of interest in activities they used to like

- loss of interest in their social life

A lot of teenagers are easily exposed to Crystal meth through friends or people in their surroundings in general and social media. Teenagers that use Crystal meth usually show signs of the drug in their behaviour.
