On the September the 1st 1949, children was being forced out of the England because of the Germans. The Germans were bombing London and it was unsafe for children to be around a place where such things were happening.
Where did they go?
Most children went to the country side, the Germans left the country side alone this is because there wasn't anything important there. They targeted London because there was food factories and regular factories.
They either traveled by train or car. Back then, trains were powered by coal so the trains were called locomotives .
