EOPS & CARE Services

EOPS OVERVIEW

Designed to help students with challenges to pursuing higher ed:

  • Economic (CA Promise Grant eligible)
  • Educational (1st gen, ESL)

EOPS provides:

  • Educational support services
  • Financial assistance

EOPS POLICIES

Complete EOPS Orientation

Take 2 core ESL Courses per semester (only ESL students)

Enroll in the required amount of units (12--> 9)

Maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA

Complete at least 67% of units attempted

Follow your Education Plan

Adhere to the Mutual Responsibility Contract

Complete 3 EOPS counseling contacts per semester

Have no more than ONE No-Show (per semester)

No-Show:

  • Not attending appointment
  • Canceling on same day
  • More than 10 mins late

EOPS LIMITS

  • Reaching 70 degree applicable units (unless you are in a high unit major i.e. Nursing, Engineering)

  • Reaching your educational goal (i.e. A.A. or A.S., Certficate and/or transfer)

EOPS PROBATION

  • Any student who does not comply with requirements will be placed on probation with the EOPS Program.

  • If the problem persists for a consecutive semester, the student will be dismissed.

  • Students have the opportunity to appeal for extended probation.

  • If a student chooses not to appeal or is denied and wants to rejoin EOPS, they can reapply.

*Only ONE reinstatement is allowed after being dismissed.
