In World War 1, Germany lost the war and paid to England a fine of 6 million pounds.After that, Germany became very poor.Adolf Hitler then rose with power in hope to make Germany great again , promising them with the life they never dreamed of.

Hitler was born on the 20th April 1889 and died on the 30th April 1945. He had three siblings (Gustav, Edmund and Paula Hitler).

Children, women ,elderly and other vulnerable people got evacuated. this is what the children packed;

boys;2 vests, 2 pairs of pants, a pair of trousers, 6 handkerchiefs and a pullover or jersey.

girls;a vest, a petticoat, 2 pairs of stockings, 6 handkerchiefs, a slip, a blouse and a cardigan.

Every evacuee had a gas mask. On the journeys , they took sandwiches, apples,and chocolate.Life was hard but very exciting.Locals and evacuees played together as if they have known each other for their whole lives.

Rationing

Food was rationed.Lots of people had either some food lots of food or no food. Food wasn't the only thing that was rationed.Clothes ,electricity and sleep was rationed too due to the blitz.People would grow their own food but would buy some store bought cooking ingredients like milk,butter,eggs,meat,tea and cooking fats. fruit and vegetables were often grown at home.v
