The project has now come to an end for some reason
This means it is now time to evaluate the project
To do this we will need to ask questions and analyse the results
The best way to capture this information will be in a questionnaire.
Qualitative judgements
Quantify responses
We need to ask both members of the project team and the client for their feedback in order to answer the questions on the task sheet
You may decide that it is more appropriate to have two different questionnaires or may choose to give all stakeholders the same questions
Has the project delivered the benefits identified in the business case?
Achieved the objectives as outlines in business case?
You can't ANSWER this question by ASKING this question
Devise questions that will specifically target the benefits/objectives that YOU stated in the PID/Business case
Questions to answer
Did the project deviate from the original scope?
Meet the targets as identified in the quality plan?
Proceed on schedule
Deviate from the budget
Deviate in terms of resources levels
Conformed to the management process as per execution phase
What major achievements were there from the project and what effect has the project had on your client's business?
What went wrong? How has this impacted upon the clients business?
Lessons learned
You will need to think about how you will pose questions to the team and client in order to answer the bullet points on page 16
YOU THEN NEED THE INDIVIDUAL RESPONSES COMPLETED SO THAT YOU CAN ANALYSE THEM
You should then be able to analyse these results to prove how well (or not!) the project went
You will then write a short report detailing the responses for each question
M3 - Potential improvements
Based upon the project evaluation that you have just completed you will need to write a final report
You will identify things that you are going to do differently if you are to take on a similar project in the future
FINAL PIECE OF COURSEWORK!
