Biased policing practices and discriminatory policies often target minority communities, leading to higher arrest rates and longer prison sentences for similar offenses compared to their white counterparts.

An example of discriminatory policies:

This is often times due to Direct or indirect racial discrimination in the criminal justice system

My Father was on the receiving end of this pipeline and saw it first hand. He worked as a correctional officer and with the treatment centers in Arizona.

The ongoing systemic racism in America is one that you've all heard of but likely know little about. It will require the passing of knowledge in order to reduce the effects of the school to prison pipeline.

Fact:

Black students in the United States are subject to disciplinary action at much higher rates than their white counterparts although both are being sent to the principal's office at the same rate.

Despite that black students are more likely to end up with a more severe punishment.
