Goals today

  • Finish outlines
  • Complete peer review and feedback

Peer review

Phase 1 of Peer Review (5-10 minutes):

  • Quietly reading outlines(not speaking!)
  • Filling out a compliment sandwich!
  • Putting your pencil down when you're done giving feedback and waiting for Phase 2.
  • After 5-10 minutes

Phase 2 of Peer Review (5-10 minutes)

  • Sounds like level one voices saying things like:
  • "I like how you did X, but I think you can do X better"
  • "Thanks for that advice, did you like my second paragraph?"
  • "What can I add to make a stronger argument?)

While reading . . .

Answer the following questions on your halfsheet of paper:

  • One thing they did well, one thing they could improve, and another thing they can do well.
  • Does their thesis statement make sense?
  • Did they cite their sources?
  • Do they have topic sentences? If not, where can they add them?
  • Do they have two pieces of evidence in every paragraph? If not, where do they need to add evidence?
  • Do they explain their evidence? If not, where do they need to explain their thinking?
  • We still need to write an introduction and conclusion! Suggest some ideas for how they can start and end their paper!
