The title of the novel is Rachel's Tears, it was written by Beth Nimmo and Darrell Scott (Rachel's parents) with Steve Rabey. the novel was published on the 20th of April 2000 and is biography/autobiography.
Kindness is a theme shown in Rachel's Tears epically through Rachel and how kind she is to everyone even to people she doesn't know. Rachel shows kindness to everyone at school, church, youth group and at work. Rachel was just one of those people that was kind to everyone. In one of the stories Rachel's Dad tells there is 2 acts of kindness by 2 different people (Rachel and a stranger). this is just one example of kindness in a book full of it.
The main action and climax in the book is when they are talking about the Columbine shooting. The shooting took place in Columbine High School, Colorado, United States of America on the 20 of April 1999 at around lunch time. 13 people were killed and others were wounded. Rachel Joy Scott was one of the 13 people who were killed.

“I met Rachel at a gas station. I was short five cents so she pulled a nickel out of her pocket and set it on the counter. When I asked her who she was, she told me this: “Rachel Scott, good you meet you, friend.” I didn't know her, but her kindness and her smile have struck me even though it is three years later.” Page 113
"I didn't fit in or anything and Rachel was the first person who ever came up to me and opened her heart for me and brought me in." Page 81.
Rachel's faith was humungous and loved God no matter what. But she did have times when she doubted her faith and the existence of God. But Rachel always came back to God and had faith in him all the way to her death.
Rachel's Tears was a good book to read because it gave an in depth story about Rachel and her life as a christian but it also gave us information about the Columbine shooting and how many people it affected. I recommend that other people read the book and i give it a 4/5 star rating.
