The hellbender is North America's only speices of Giant Salamander. It can grow up to 29 inches long! We saw a Hellbender at the Pisgah Wild Life Refuge.

Pisgah is home to three types of trout. Brown Trout, the largest of the three. Brook Trout, North Carolinas only native trout. Rainbow Trout, native to western North America.

There are 250 waterfalls in Brevard, which is near Pisgah. In fact, Brevard is known as the land of waterfalls.

I liked Looking Glass Falls because there where many great rocks to climb on.
I liked Moore Cove Falls because you could go behind it and it was very tall.
I liked Triple Falls because it was tall and majestic.Also because there was a big staircase to go up and down.
Pisgah became a national forest on October 17 1916. The word "Pisgah" comes frome the Hebrew word meaning "summit".
