One of the places I hiked to was John Rock. John Rock is a big rock ledge with a beautiful view.

Hiking with horses:
One of the hikes we went on we rode on horses. My horse was named Scout.
Cradle of Forestry
We hiked all the trails at the Cradle Of Forestry where Dr. Carl Schenck taught people how to be foresters.It became the first forestry school in the U.S.A.

Dollys Ice Cream is my favorite ice cream place in the world. This is because it has so many different really delicious flavors.

Animals:
There are many types of animals in Pisgah including the Peregrine Falcon, Hellbender, and many types of trout.

Hellbender:
The hellbender is North America's only speices of Giant Salamander. It can grow up to 29 inches long! We saw a Hellbender at the Pisgah Wild Life Refuge.

Trout
Pisgah is home to three types of trout. Brown Trout, the largest of the three. Brook Trout, North Carolinas only native trout. Rainbow Trout, native to western North America.

The Peregrine Falcon can reach speeds of 200mph. It is the fastest land animal on earth. At John Rock we thought we heard a Peregrine Falcon. Source:Same

There are 250 waterfalls in Brevard, which is near Pisgah. In fact, Brevard is known as the land of waterfalls.

I liked Looking Glass Falls because there where many great rocks to climb on.

I liked Moore Cove Falls because you could go behind it and it was very tall.

I liked Triple Falls because it was tall and majestic.Also because there was a big staircase to go up and down.

History:
Pisgah became a national forest on October 17 1916. The word "Pisgah" comes frome the Hebrew word meaning "summit".
