First put the higher number on top. Under it put the lower number. Next to the lower number put the multiplication symbol. Lastly, multiply. I will show you how to do this on the next page. Now thats how you multiply!
First, multiply the number you have on the bottom by the number in the ones place on the top. Take the digit in the ones place from your multiplication problem and put it in the ones place under the line. IF there is an extra number in the tens place after your multiplication problem. Carry the extra number and put it next to the number in the tens place on top. Lastly, multiply the bottom number by the next number in the tens place and add the extra number from before. Now that is how you multiply!
To start it off, multiply the number in the ones place on the bottom by the number in the ones place on top. Whatever total you get, put it under the line in the ones place. If you get a number in the tens place carry it to the next number. Next multiply the number in the ones place on the bottom by the number in the 10's place on top. Add the extra number from before(if you have one) to your total form this multiplication problem. Then Put the total of that in the 10's place next to the ones place.Next multiply the number in the tens place on the bottom by the number in the ones place on top. Under the answer that you got for the first multiplication problem, put a 0 as a place holder. Next put the answer that you got for the multiplication problem of place by the number on top. Put the answer to that next to the place holder(0). Then, multiply the number in the 10s place on the bottom by the number in the 10s place on top. Next put that next to the number next to the place holder. Lastly, add your numbers and thats how you multiply double digit numbers!
