  • Considered to be the father of jazz.

Jazz Music

The music

Jazz started in 1917 but became popular throughout the 1920s. Louis Armstrong and his band helped popularize the jazz genre. Jazz, blues, ragtime and swing all orginated from African Americans who used their heritage and culutre to create a new sound. Jazz was mostly improvised which made it so entertaining and fresh all the time. Jazz music began to influence dance, fashion and culture.
