When was the Ordovician Time Period:

The Ordovician Time period started 485 Million years ago and ended 443 Million years ago.

Where was the Period at:

The Ordovician time period was located between the Camrian and the Silurian time period.

During the Ordovician Time Period the continents were organized in the Gondwana Landmass.

The Climate

During the Ordovician period North America and Europe were warm and sunny and during this time period there was a lot of marine life on it with the first primitive plants starting to appear. And the super continent of Gondwana was created. The climate was mosltley warm and wet. The earth had lots of moustire.

  • At the end of the Ordovician Period large glaciers were forming on Gondwana

Why Did it End:

The Ordoviciaan period ended because of the secound largest mass extinction .

Why was there a Mass Extinction:

The wave of extinction was due to the fact that the golbal tempratures dropped so, it caused glaciers to form on Gondwana. Because of that the sea level droped. Leading to 85 percent of the marine life being killled.
