Newton's 3 Laws and Gravity

By: Ashlee Orman

5 everyday examples Newton's 3 Laws

Step One:

Newton Laws applied

The 5 Example

Examples:

Law 3:

A bowling ball- rolling to hit pins has a reaction of the pins being knocked down.

A baseball bat- swung at a baseball has the reaction of the ball getting hit.

A person pushing a desk- has the reaction of that desk moving.

A person knocking into an unsteady desk- has the reaction of that desk falling.

Law 1:

A person walking- that person stays in motion unless they stop.

A car driving- If the car wrecks, a force acting upon it. Therefore it's motion stops.

A ball rolling down a street- The ball stays rolling unless it hits a wall.

A water bottle on a table- The water bottle remains on the table unless it gets knocked over.

A bike- remains in motion, unless it crashes into a tree.

Law 2:

If a baseball bat were to hit a ball of the lighter mass, the acceleration would be strong.

A car running into a car of the same mass.

A person pushing at a person of the same mass and force.

Gravity Notes

Gravity Notes

- Any particle of matter in the universe attracts any other with a force varying directly as the product of the masses and inversely as the square of the distance between them.

- The 3 laws of gravity:

In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. In the second law, the force on an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration. In the third law, when two objects interact, they apply forces to each other of equal magnitude and opposite direction.
