What Is It ?

Top 5 BioMedical Engineering schools in the country

Schooling

1).Georgia Institute of Technology

2)John Hopkins University

3)Massachusetts Institute of technology

4)Duke University

5)Stanford University

Schooling

You will need at least a master degree in biomedical engineering and if you want to further your career you could get a Phd in medicine or engineering because at the time there is no possible course for biomedical engineering when it comes to doctorate degrees. To get a masters degree it would be a two year expansion on your 4-year bachelors degree.

Artifical Organs

Artificial Organs

What It Is

What It Is

An Artificial organ is a full or partial prostheses of a organ in the human body. Some examples would be a heart, liver, kidneys, brain, e.t.c .According to Encyclopaedia Britannica "An Artificial organ, any machine, device or other material that is used to replace these functions of a faulty or missing organ or other party of the human body. Artificial organs include the artificial heart pacemaker, the use of dialysis to perform kidney functions".

How It Works

Scientists are working on creating better and better prosthesis to be more and more realistic so that they function as if it was their actually organ. Scientists are working on using Stem cells to grow an artificial organ for your body. This would get rid of the problem that happens during organ transplants. If they use stem cells from your body it would stop the body from trying to reject the organ. According to Futurism.com"Science has also made it possible to produce artificial organs using another technological marvel 3D
