Energy Input and Output

By:Joshua, Om and Gabriel

Energy

According to Google,The capacity or power to do work, such as the capacity to move an object (of a given mass) by the application of force.

Our definition-The property that is transferred to work on or apply heat on,this might also exist in

different forms such as electrical energy, light energy, kinetic energy, potential energy, chemical energy and so on...

Energy

Energy input

Energy Input

Food consumptions: Saccharides, phospholipids,fats

Fats-one of the uses of fat is for storing energy for later use

Carbohydrate-is used for giving instant energy, saccharides

Our diets

Our average diets a day

Breakfast - Milk and cereal (420 calories)

Lunch - Fried chicken teriyaki with rice (660 calories)

Snack - Kamu and a bag of crisps (230 calories, 1242 calories)

Dinner - Tomato pasta (463 calories)

Energy output (Forms of energy)

Energy Output

Average Energy output a day

The average amount of energy we lose a day

Walking (1 hour 30 minutes) - 360 calories

Sitting and working(7 hours) -1190 calories

Sleep (7 hours) - 266 calories

Jogging (30 minutes) - 315 calories

Playing games (1 hour ish) - 81.5 calories

What we realized

What we realized

We realized that we have more input energy than output energy.

Our snacks seems to have the biggest effect on our diet.

Transfer of Energy

Transfer of Energy

The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another. Energy is transferred from one form to another when a reaction takes place. Some of the ways energy gets transferred is by conduction, convection, radiation, potential, kinetic and chemical energy.
