Thank You!
Have you ever forgotten what you packed? Do you have difficulty locating your suitcase at the airport? Don't worry because we have invented a luggage that helps a lot if you like to travel. This luggage is called Packing Pro. Packing Pro scans an item then the scanned items go to an app on your phone, this is helpful if you forget what you pack and don't want to mess up your organized suitcase. Packing Pro also has a locator so if your suitcase gets lost or stolen you can find it. The reason we chose this problem to solve is because we've experienced these problems before. For example, losing a luggage, forgetting what we've packed and making a huge jumble of mess just to find something simple, like a toothbrush.
-Forgetting what items you have packed in your suitcase
- forgetting where you packed specific items
- locating suitcase at the airport
- providing customs agents with a secure method of searching the contents of your suitcase
Packing Pro
Packing Pro has a locator. This is helpful when your luggage gets lost or stolen. The locator goes on to an app on your phone. This way you know where your luggage is at all times.
PACKING PRO
L Locator
Your Luggage
Traveler's Checklist is a part of the app. This is where you insert your destination and enter the items you want to pack. When you pack an item, the scanned item automaticly makes a check mark on your Checklist. Packing Pro also will give you suggestions for items to pack.
Traveler's Checklist
Packing Pro comes with an app. The app has the scanned items and your located luggage is also on the app. When you buy Packing Pro, it comes with your app password so you download the free app and insert your password or it can't work.
Packing Pro has a scanner installed into it. So whenever you put something inside your luggage, the scanner scans it then the scanned items go to the app on your phone. Also the scanner remmebers where you put your items.
Scanner
The Phone App :)
1. Some people might like our product because it would be the new tech. and it would make traveling and packing easier. However, some people might not like the Packing Pro because of the high price.
2. Some changes the Packing Pro will cause are jobs being lost. Now, because of the 3D scanner in the Packing Pro, which sends each identified objects to your phone, people would just ask to see your phone to see what is inside your luggage so people who usually do the security check and look in your luggage cannot do that anymore so they lse their jobs.
1. This technology does not exist today because some of the materials need to be improved for better quality & rates so people will use it. Also the materials needed are expensive.
2.
The things needed to be invented (so Packing Pro can be successful as it is designed) is the scanner because the scanner needs to be strong yet light. Also the locator needs to be able to locate the suitcase and you in very large/far distances
4.
the people might have to change the way they think because they wouldn't have to pack so early & get worried about not packing anything
3.
We have most of materials needed in order for Packing Pro but just a few things need to be invented for example the scanner & locater
1. Our tech will have to be improved because our product needs a scanner which is called a 3-D scanner but it has trouble scanning shiny things like mirrors so that has to be improved. Also the scanner needs to be smaller so it doesn't take up to much space. The locator doesn't need improvement. For the traveler's checklist, where the app on your phone suggests what to pack, we could use the same tech as siri.
2. The Packing Pro will look like an every day luggage but it will have extra features. The handle will have foam ligning to make it comfortable to hold. Inside the luggage, we will put a 3-D scanner which identifies the the objects you have packed and sends it to your phone.
Designing Packing Pro was a bit of a challenge but it was o.k. Some parts we decided not to use. Designing Packing Pro was basically finding peoples everyday struggles ( with traveling & packing )
We decided to not add a alarm clock because it would be hard to add a snooze bar & we don't have idea for where the alarm would be.
Before we thought Packing Pro would have some sort Siri like thing called Lena but then we came up with the Traveler's Checklist
Our challenges were based on struggles we have for packing such as:
-if we forget what to pack we inveted the app for your phone
-if we forget where we packed our items the app will tell us that too.
-if customs get mad at you for no reason you can assure them by showing them your list of items on your phone. To show them that there is no harm
Packing Pro is made of many pieces of technology, which are complex for a suitcase. Everything has a history. This is the history of the technology in Packing Pro.
Wooden Trunk
Rolling Suitcase
One of the first "suitcases" were trunks. They were made with heavy materials like wood with metal bases. They had metal clasps instead of zippers we have today.
Then, the rolling suitcases were made by Bernard D. Sadow for easier convienience. They were made a bit lighter and rolling suitcases were made in 1972.
Packing Pro
Packing Pro is currently the newest suitcase in its abstract. It has a locator in case your luggage gets lost, An app with many positive things attached, and a 3-d scanner to keep track of what you have. This is the perfect modern man's luggage.
Here is where the history of all the gadgets are bestowed.
In Packing Pro there is, of course a suitcase. But there is more than just a suitcase, there are: locaterschecklistsphoneappsandscanners. Sorry, I mean there's a locator, checklists, a phone app, and even a scanner with item recognition.
In order to have the smallest chance of losing your luggage, Packing Pro keeps a locator connected to your phone.
But how did locaters start?
These satellites work in a process called trileration.
Well, about 40 years ago, the Soviet Union launched their first locating satellite.
Trileration is when you are in the range of 3 or more satellites, and they can pin point where you are from your reciever. (in this case it is your phone/app.)
They were first developed for the U.S. military's navigation. Look where we are now, playin' Pokemon Go!
The satellite worked and years later they sent a few more to orbit the Earth. Now, there are over 30 satellites floating around Earth.
The scanner is just one important part of Packing Pro. It scans the object you'd like to put in, then transfers the information into the phone app.
The earliest three dimensional scanner was made around 1960. Though early and a tiny bit hard to scan, it could still scan 3-d objects.
While devoloping through the years, 3-d scanners have many diverse versions. They may look different or be better quality, but at the end of the day, most well made scanners get the job done.
Early scanners used lights, cameras and projectors. Past 1995, scanners used white lights, lasers and shadowing to capture the image.
The checklist is important for those travelers who like to forget their stuff quite often.
Checklists were made to reduce memory failure, and someone forgetting something.
The checklist was created by Atul Gawande.
Just check that small box and you will not forget what you have to do.
