The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is one of the many known series of movies and books that is based around living in a dystopian world.

The Hunger Games

How is it dystopian?

The Hunger Games shows many signs of dystopia. From poverty to hunger. They are dressed in basically rags. They are thrown into their own homes that are small and barely fit more than three people. These people are to fend for themselves without the governments help.

When did dystopia become a thing?

The word 'Dystopia' was further invented by english philosopher John Stuart Mill. He explained as a word that meant 'bad place' after he denounced the governments Irish land policy in 1868.

When did dystopia become a thing?

Can dystopia happen in our world today?

Dystopia has technically been around for many years due to some countries in the world struggling with very bad government. The holocaust is the most known historic event that shows many levels of dystopia.

The government was so powerful that they forced others to live in a strict rules and poverty. Though, they did not get to roam around on their own and live about their lives like those in The Hunger Games. They were dragged from left and right and told what to do.

They are stuck inside behind electric fences.
