How it happens still today
Racism is something that still takes place in the world today. Racism is prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. There is no one race that is superior than the others. Everyone has the same rights but yet are not treated with the same rights.
Police Brutality
Police brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct which involves undue violence by police members. Widespread police brutality exists in many countries and territories, even those that prosecute it. This is one of the larger forms of racism today, around 84% of officers have stated in a recent survey that they have directly witnesses a fellow officer using more force than was necessary.

There is racially motivated abuse, which can be verbal or physical, and can include attacks on property as well as people. Racial abuse and threatening behavior can happen in lots of different places, including work, school, in or near your home, on public transport or in the street. It can happen over a long period of time and can make life a misery for the victims. Most of the time this tends to be verbal abuse towards another race. This happened at a Juventus soccer game, a young black man scored and the fans were chanting racial slurs towards him during the game.

In Iowa hate crimes in 2016 57.5% were motivated by race or ethnicity, 21 percent by religion, 17.7 percent by sexual orientation, and other incidents by gender or disability. Of Des Moines' three reported crimes, two were deemed to be motivated by race/ethnicity and one to religion. West Des Moines reported one hate crime based on sexual orientation. This happens closer to us than we believe it ever could. This is still happening today and we are only 20 min. from where it is occurring.

Why it needs fixed
Racism needs fixed because it is causing a lot of problems in the world today, such as wars and violent crimes. Racism is very unethical and the constitution says "all men are created equal". If this is what our country is founded on then why are we not treating every one equal and still have racism?
Ways to fix this
Ways to fix it
Ways that we can fix racism could be done in many different places or ways. We could start with having the officers that are involved with police brutality getting into more trouble without getting away with it. This would be a good start because it will show the rest of communities that people that are associated in law are getting punished for these things as well.
