Lady Pink was born Sandra Fabara in Ecuador in 1964 and raised in New York City. She started making graffiti at the age of 15 and quickly became well known as the only prominent female in the graffiti subculture. She painted subway trains from 1979 to 1985.She uses her art as a rebellion and to express emotion. She was also nicknamed "first lady of graffiti."
