Teaching activity

  • After video playing, teacher asks a few simple recap questions to ensure student’s focus during the video playing.

  • Teacher emphasizes that the lesson of the day will focus on one of the elements of short story, namely, theme.

Content

Teaching activity

  • After video playing, teacher asks students a few simple recap questions based on the video they have watched.

  • Next, teacher asks students to take out their literature textbook and turn to Page 102.

  • Teacher informs that all students will have to participate in an activity called “Reading Relay” in which each student will take turn to read “Cheat!” short story.

A simple way to gamify reading task, especially in reading texts. Students read a part of text then pass the next part on to student next to him or her.

A mini game in which students work in groups to find words related to “Cheat!” short story in the word puzzle.

ROTATING REVIEW ACTIVITY

1, Each group writes their supporting details and examples for the theme they have chosen on a manila.

2. each group displays their product to the whole class.

3. Every student take turn in doing the"Staying and Walking" along the activity (2 students stay and the other 3 walk)

4. the students who do the walking are in charge of commenting and contributing ideas to other groups.

  • Teacher provide manila card and asks them to write their supporting details and examples based on Exercise 2 creatively on the manila card given.

  • After the activity, teacher asks each group to stick their manila card on the whiteboard.

CONTENT

  • Teacher discusses the themes with the whole class.

  • Teacher then instructs students to write a summary on any 1 theme with the ideas discussed on the whiteboard

To wrap up the lesson by encouraging the students to engage in quick discussion about what they have learn.
