A biochemist studies cell growth and development. They also study chemical and physical properties of living things.

Biochemist try to expand human knowledge and solve problems. Some may study evolution of plants and animals, while others may study genetics that lead to cancer and diseases.

In agriculture, biochemists may make genetically modified crops that are bug and disease resistant.
