Rule by a Few

Greece, the birthplace of democracy, wasn't always a democracy.

Rule By a Few

Athens began with kings ruling until rich landowners, or aristocrats took power. Aristocracy: highest social class had power. Only a few people in power: oligarchy.

The Use of Common Currency

Oligarchy- Rule by a few wealthy aristocrats

Tyranny- rule by one powerful leader.
