Possible Barriers
- Frayed communication between deaf athletes and their coaches, teammates, or referees.
- Discrimination by others who think that deaf people are less intelligent and/or capable
- Difficulty accommodating HAT (hearing aids, cochlear implants, FM systems, etc).
- Socially outcast due to others assuming it will be too difficult to try to communicate
- Missing things like whistle blows, gun shots (to start races), and calls on plays.
