Postmodernism is defined as a style which emerged in the post–World War II era. Postmodern works are seen as a response against dogmatic following of Enlightenment thinking and Modernist approaches to literature.
Literary Postmodernism was officially coronated in the United States with the first issue of boundary 2, subtitled "Journal of Postmodernism Literature and Culture", which appeared in 1972. David Antin, Charles Olson, John Cage, and the Black Mountain College school of poetry and the arts were integral figures in the intellectual and artistic exposition of postmodernism at the time. Boundary 2 remains an influential journal in postmodernism circles today.

How Was Postmodernism Affected Politically ?
Postmodern polotics didn't emerge until the 1960's when numerous groups and struggles emerged. The development a new postmodern politic is strongly known for its unpleasant changes and social movements in France and the United States.
In post modernism time was when woman started realizing how unfair they were being treated politically. Woman started standing up for their rights for example like the right to vote and the right to have a job that a man could have. Also since all men were so busy at war woman had to come in and take jobs that apperently were for men.
