The Aru Flying Fox, aka pteropus aruensis is a species of bat. they are omnivores, normally eating fruits and insects. They are really big and they are usually black, brown, and red. They are on the Critically Endangered list.
The Aru Flying Fox belongs to the Old World Fruit Bats family.
They live on land and hang on trees. They can fly.

The truth is, not much is known about the Aru Flying Fox. Nobody knows for sure why it is dying. People think that since it is so large and colorful, it is a target for illegal hunting. But if that is the case, nobody knows.
Conservation Efforts
Currently, there are no known conservation efforts in progress to save the Aru Flying Fox. Much information is needed on threats, and the bat in general. Nobody is trying to save it, even though there are only 1-49 mature adults.
