Literary Elements and devices
* In the myth "The earth on turtles back" The character's were put text and worked together smoothly right from the start.
* In the legend "In the Beginning" the characters seemed to have automatic conflict when lock-chew disturbed the
owners of the land.
*"Wind asked, "Who will make
the land" The author gives a
non living character a human
action which is speaking.
(Personification)
* The animals were referred
to as the "water animals.
BOTH
*Both myths have In the beginning have separated characters. The humans and the animals or things(The wind and sun from "In the Beginning")
*Both myths characters Animals Built their land o soon be shared by everyone
* The animals wanted their world to be perfect and each creature had something to make it perfect whether it was their wings or tail.
The little tiny muskrat had
the same qualities as the
ancient chief which goes to
show no matter how big
small old young you are the
possibilities are endless.
*The characters in this story came
of ass very selfless and kind in
there acts to help this woman.
* Wind the character
seemed to know a lot
about what a world
should look like so they
have probably seen the
upper and lower world.
*There was three
settings in"In the beginning"
The upper,below and this
world.
*There were a few settings
in this myth.First skyland.
We meet the tree which is
their god i assuming
and this god reaches
into the other
world which is
earth.
"In the beginning"
was also pre-earth
because of its title
which suggests this
story was the
beginning.
BOTH
*Both story started off or evolved in a setting of water and grew to a big world.
*Both stories have earth below the water.
*Both stories have multiply worlds.
*Id assume that this
story takes place
thousands of years ago
by the first sentence
"Before earth was here."
It says
"water covered
everything but
the Crawfish were
bothering the owners
land .
*It says "There is waters far as one could see" so to begin there is no land.
*Repetition was used a lot in
this myth for example when the
animals kept trying to swim to the
bottom and gather earth but kept
failing until the muskrat broke
this repetition
* Repetition is also
used a lot in this
myth when the
wind says"Who
will make land
appear/who
will make
light"
BOTH
*Both myths have personification.
*Imagery is used in both myths.
*Allusion is also
used a lot in this myth.
When the turtles back
is described as the
foundation of
the world
BOTH
*In this myth keeping peace
seems to be very important
towards their cultural.
*Although we don't
get a direct metaphor or
something to show some
type of god the wind
gives a lot of advice
on the new world and
they all listen so
maybe that's
important to
their culture.
I think in both Myths diversity was a big thing in each cultural because everyone was different and deserving and purposeful.
*In this myth a higher
power was a big thing for
their people.They were
extremely passionate
about the wife's
dream and were
determined to make
it real because it
was big deal to
them.
* *The Ancient Chief
probably died using his
last breath to uproot this
tree which says a lot About
the culture of there people
and how they all feel very
strongly about "Dreams
of great power.
