Confidentiality
Attendance & punctuality
Participate
Have a positive outlook
Non-judgemental
Provide consistency & support
Have fun!
DO NOT
Touch a youth to discipline/maintain order - strict "hands-off" policy
Give unsolicited advice/counselling - volunteers are facilitators, not professional counsellors
Have contact with a youth outside of Rebound
Degrade youth with name-calling, yelling, threatening, teasing
Dictate what you think are the youths' needs
Be judgemental - the issue is not what the youth has done, but how positive changes can be based on Rebound lessons
Keep any secrets for the youth - report any concerns to program coordinator
Evaluate youth based on their ideas/beliefs

Two Truths & A Lie
1. Always be on time (Coaches are asked to arrive at least 15 min. before program starts)
2. Attend every scheduled session. Parents/caregivers are required to call Rebound office if their child is unable to attend. (Coaches are asked to call the Rebound office & connected with program coordinator if unable to attend).
3. The youth should be encouraged to participate in each session to the best of their ability.
4. Confidentiality is important at Rebound. What is said here stays HERE!
5. Youth are supervised at all times while at Rebound.
6. Don't criticize or put others down, treat others the way you would like to be treated.
7. Be respectful of yourself, your space and each other.
8. Come to each session with an openmind, an understanding attitude and with your volunteer hat on. This is a time to take of your other hats and focus on the youth.
