African tick-bite fever.- African tick-borne fever is produced by Rickettsia africae and endemic in several countries in sub-Saharan Africa and Guadeloupe.

When it manifests?

When it manifests?

It usually manifests 4 to 10 days after the bite. Complications are not common, but may include inflammation of the joints. Some people do not develop symptoms.

*Muscle pains

*Crust or inoculation grain, which is dead tissue, often black, around the site of the bite

**The scab or crust may not be present.

*Inflamed lymph nodes near the site of the sting

*Maculopapular injury and / or vesicular rash

*Prolonged fever: a duration of 3 weeks

*Reactive arthritis

*Moderate to severe headache
