Down Syndrome comes from three different ways, each connected to Trisonomy 21.
One common way to have Down Syndrome,
is having three copies of the Chromosome Trisonomy 21.
The second way, is part or all of chromosome Trisonomy 21 is attached to another chromosome.
The third possible way includes when your cell has two copies of chromosome Trisonomy 21.
Down Syndrome can be looked for, and detected before the baby is even born. This is done through NIPT, (Non-invasive Prenatal Testing) and Diagnostic Tests. Down Syndrome appears in about 1 and every 700 babies.
As there is no cure for Down Syndrome, there is no treatment to stop it. But, there are many for the side affects that come with it.
