He proposed an approach that investigates the use of language in the environment, in socio-situational contexts.
According to Hymes CC is related to being able to know when you should speak, and do not, what to talk about, who to talk to, when, where and in which way. It is about the ability to make statements not grammatically correct but socially appropriate.
