WHAT IS THE SIMPLE PRESENT ?

PRESENT SIMPLE

The present simple is a verb tense that indicates permanent actions or states, that is, that will last all or most of the time.

When and how is the present simple used?

USE

The present simple is used in sentences when:

- They show states and situations that are routine, that is, they have periodicity.

- To talk about events and routines that are repeated in periods of time.

How is it structured?

STRUCTURE

The simple present is structured as follows:

- When the sentence is affirmative: subject + verb + complement.

- When the sentence is negative: subject + (don't/doesn't) verb + complement.

- When the sentence is interrogative: do/does + subject + verb + object?

Examples

EXAMPLES

Affirmative:

- I like to eat ice cream

Negative:

- I do not like to eat ice cream

Interrogative:

- Do you like to eat ice cream?

We use the present continuous to express actions that are being done at the moment

How is present continous used:

- We must add ''ing'' at the end of the verb in affirmative, nergative or interrogative sentences.

-We use it when we want express an action that is happening at the moment.
