Breakfasts

The Ancient Greeks had bread dipped in wine. The bread was made from barley. The bread was probably hard so they used wine to soften it up so it was easier to eat. The Greeks also ate something called teganites. Teganites are kind of like pancakes. They were made with wheat flour, olive oil, honey and curdled milk.

Lunches

For lunch they Greeks had things like figs, salted fish, cheeses, olives and more bread.

They drank a bit more wine than they did for breakfast.

Dinners

When it was dinner time the Greeks family gathered together to eat. They ate eggs from quail and hens, fish, legumes, olives, cheeses, breads, figs, any vegetables they could grow. They also might have arugula, asparagus, cabbage, carrots and cucumbers. They ate a lot of food for dinner.

Wines

The Greeks had many different wines for all their meals. They made red, white, rose and port wines. The wine was made in Thasbos, Lesbos and Chios. The Greeks didn't drink their wine straight, they drank it with water because they had no intention of getting drunk.
