Football

Another page that I created this year was Football. This page was also a success after finishing. With this page there were many challenges that I faced. Getting pictures was simple for me because I went to the matches and took the pictures myself. However, i was not able to get a team picture of the football team by myself and asked Mr. Moore for the pictures. At first I had some trouble getting a description of football and asked the team members to write or tell me about the sports season. Eventually I wrote the seasons description by myself. One of the biggest challenges I faced on the Football page was the senior feature. I had some trouble talking with the captain but eventually I sent her an email with a couple of questions and got a response. This page did take some time to complete because of some of the challenges like the senior feature. If I had to do this page again, I would have taken more action shots of the matches. This page was a bit challenging at certain times because I had to include pictures of both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams but had only attended the Varsity games which made it difficult for me to get the Junior Varsity pictures later on.

Service

This year in yearbook one of the pages that i did was service learning and it ended up being a success. Although there were many challenges throughout the year. When I first with this page I had a few challenges getting images. I started contacting my peers to get pictures which was quite difficult because not many people took pictures from their service groups. Another challenge I faced was the descriptions but that didn’t always work out. Eventually I began writing the descriptions myself by asking several people what they did and participated in as well as looking to past yearbooks. After finishing with this spread I had to check my service descriptions with Mrs. Redler. However many of the descriptions weren’t the proper descriptions for the services and I had to change and rewrite some of them, Including Aga Khan which I had to remove and replace it with Kibera Dance Group. After doing this page there are many things that I wish I could have done differently. I didn’t know much about indesign when I first started this page so after I started learning new things, I couldn’t start over my page. If I could do this differently I would make more interesting layouts as well as more capturing captions.

7th & 8th mugs

I worked on 7th and 8th grade mugs page. Although I didn’t create this page I helped when putting these two grades together and had to rearrange some things. Some challenges with this page was removing the students who weren’t pictured. When they hadn’t taken their pictures I had to remove their space and move everything over. I had to do this with every student who hadn’t taken their picture, which became very challenging after a while. If I could do this page again I wish I could have included more pictures of the 7th and 8th graders and even though I wasn’t in charge of this page, I wish I could have taken a grade picture.
