Marley's last words to his son, Ziggy Marley, were "On your way up, take me up, on your way down, dont let me down."

Death of a Legend

On 1980, at Hallenstadion in Zürich, Switzerland. Marley performed for the first time, on May 30th 1980, and ended at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, on 23rd September 1980, which was Marley's last concert. And on 1977, at the age of 32, Marley was diagnosed with acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM), discovered under the nail of his toe. This was due to a injury in soccer speculated by a docter because he was a big fan of soccer. Tuff Gong continued to perform and record music after his diagnosis, but the illness ultimately spread and took a severe physical toll on Marley, who refused a primary form of treatment. After this concert, Marley got baptized in a Ethiopian Orthodox Church, He received cancer treatment in Germany, where he visited Josef Issels, the only man on record to cure the form of cancer Marley had. Skip could've also amputated his toe with melanoma to prevent it spreading throughout, but being the true Rastafarian he was, he refused to amputate it due to religous beliefs. And this is why Marleys everlasting spirit will have no end and will forever and ever will be remembered. And Marleys most famous quote was "Don't gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold."

A Legend was born

Assasination on a Legend

Robert Nesta Marley was born on February 5th, 1945, in Nine Mile, Jamaica. His mom, Cedella Booker, was black. But his dad, Norval Sinclair Marley, was white, Norval was a supervisor at a plantation and Cedella was a singer-songwriter. Since Marley's dad was white, he was half white and half black, when people started gossiping about it, he got the nickname "White Boy", but his other nickname is "Tuff Gong".

On 3 December 1976, two days before "Smile Jamaica", a free concert organised by Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley in an attempt to ease tension between two warring political groups, Bob Marley, Rita, and manager Don Taylor were wounded in an assault by unknown gunmen inside Marley's home.

Tuff Gong's First Song

On 1962, At 17 years old, Marley, Bunny Wailer, Headley Bennett, and Peter Tosh all came together to create Gong's first song,

Judge Not. This song is in the Album "Scandal Ska," this specific title come from the Christine Keeler Movie. This songs time limit is 2:28, and the titles meaning is because of morality. And may have been based on the bibilically quote "Judge not lest ye be judged." Some of the song lyrics rephrased as background vocals in Marleys later hit song "Could you be Loved"

As a teenager, Rita was a member of a group called the Soulettes that provided backup vocals for singers and bands — including Bob's band, the Wailers.

The Wailers passed Rita's house every day on the way to Studio One, which was owned by Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. She got to know Bob and his group mates because of their proximity, and the Soulettes eventually began singing backup for the Wailers at the studio.

At Dodd's suggestion, Bob started training and rehearsing with Rita and the Soulettes. Rita later performed backup vocals for Bob Marley and the Wailers as part of the trio known as the I Threes with Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt.

At the time, Rita already had one child, a daughter named Sharon, born in November 1964 from a relationship with an ex-boyfriend.

For primary, Tuff went to Stepney Primary School, an average Kindergarten-5th grade school. And Gong went to Junior High School for his other school.
