WHAT IS RUSH?

• Rush is a 1-2 week time frame where you could learn more about aKDPhi and what we have to offer.

• Rush is a great time for you to have a great time, make new friends, and to see if this sisterhood is right for you!

AKDPHI HISTORY:

• aKDPhi was founded at the University of California, Berkely in 1990 by 14 dedicated women.

• We strive to uphold our 5 pillars: Sisterhood, Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Asian-Awareness.

ABOUT AKDPHI:

• We are the FIRST, the LARGEST, and ONLY INTERNATIONALLY recognized Asian-Interest Sorority.

• We have over 65 chapters in 8 regions and over 9,000 sisters, internationally.

NORTH ATLANTIC REGION:

Our organization has expanded so large, the Northeast Region has been divided. We are now part of North Atlantic Chapter.

AKDPHI:

• One of alpha Kappa Delta Phi's pillar is Scholarship. We prioritize school work and education above all else.

• You DO NOT have to be Asian to join aKDPhi.

• We DO NOT haze.

SJU AKDPHI:

• Our chapter was chartered at St. John's University in 2004 by 15 devoted women.

• We were rechartered by 12 committed women in 2013.

• We are apart of the Multicultural Greek Alliance (MGA) here at SJU.

PHILANTHROPY:

• Our philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness.

• Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we fundraise and raise awareness for the cause every October.

• All the money we raise goes towards the aKDPhi Foundation who later donates the money to BCA charities and foundations.

• We have raised over $1 million for BCA.

MR. PINK:

• Every year, we host Mr. Pink, a male pageant where we invite participants from other organizations to help us spread awareness of our philanthropy.

• SJU aKDPhi held our very first Mr. Pink 6 years ago in 2014.
