Characters
There are 8 main characters in the story. The first one is Eddie Rickenbacker, he was a world-famous piolet. Next is Hans Adamson, he is a journalist in civillian life. Another character is John Deangelis, he loved to dance. Then is James Reynolds, he grew up on a ranch in California. Also Jim Whittaker, he ran a construction buisness in California. Alex Kaczmarczyk loved music. Finnaly, Johnny Bartek dropped out of high school.
Climax
The turning point of the story happens when the crew is finnally headed toward a storm which is good because they can have their first drink of fresh water since the day of the plane crash. This helps the crew stay hydrated and gives them a bit of a confidence boost.
Rising Action
The crew is not doing well. Most of them have no energy whatsoever. One of the crew members wakes up to a fish dieing on the top of his head. He grabs the fish and the crew has there very first meal. Another important that happened was when the crew was able to eat the fish and everybody got a little bit of energy to stay alive.
Conflict
The whole crew takes off from Hawaii to follow up on a lead from the Japanese. Throughout the trip they realize that they won't have enough gas to get all the way to Japan. The plane is starting to go down and they preparefor a crash landing. When they crash they don't have enough time to get everything they needed. They only can get a couple of life rafts for the crew to fit on.
Falling Action
Once they got more energy they were able to succesfuly hunt for fish. The whole crew was feeling a lot beter already. The next important event that happened was when the crew was drinking water from the ocean but still not getting sick.
Resolution
It comes to the crews attention that they wont be found unless they split up. So the crew decides to split up and hope for the best. Days later one of the rafts was found. They told the searchers where everybody else was. The crew was then soon reunited and then got to see their families. Everyonewas astonished to see them alive!
