Rome
Rome
The Ancient Kingdom of Rome was separated into many various classes, including many differences within them. This made Rome very hierarchical. The highest person in Rome was the emperor, which was chosen out of the second highest class, the patrician families. The third class was known as the senators. The senators were the people who chose the emperor. The equestrians were wealthy property owners who chose businesses over politics. Next, there was the working class called the plebeians, which was a group of men who worked as things such as craftsmen. Then, there were the slaves and freed slaves which were generally prisoners of war. They had no rights in society and had to work under ownership. Although both men and women had their own rights in Rome, men still had more power over women. Men were able to vote for important decisions involving the government. The people in Rome were born into their social classes. It was very difficult to move up to a different social class. However, sometimes people were able to.

Greece
Greece
Greece had many different city-states. Within each one there was a different form of government. Most city-states had a Democracy. Inside of Greece's city-states there were four main social classes. These included, the Athens, metics, freedmen, and slaves. The Athens were the highest social class. Athens had the most power because they had power of the government. They also had the most land and most wealth. The middle class was the metics. They were citizens who moved to Greece to get better lives. Metics had very little rights compared to the Athens. They had an average amount of land but very little wealth. They were mostly in charge of trade. The next class was known as the freedmen. Most of the freedmen owned no land. However a few of them were able to have land. The freedmen have been freed by their owners and had very little privileges. Lastly, the slaves were the lowest class, they were mostly criminals and prisoners of war and they had no rights and also no authority. To determine a social class in Greece land and wealth were a main factor.

Persia
Persia
Persia had a lot of different social classes. Starting with the highest class which was the kings and the Royal Family. They were the highest power holders in Ancient Persian Hierarchy. Most of the Royal Family was determined by blood so they were born into that class. But, some kings were also adopted by the previous king as their son. Priests had the authority to interfere or question the decisions of the king. The Aristocracy was a social class that incorporated citizens that were famous or council members that helped the king. Another class was the military people. Those people were provided with special benefits and honors provided by the king. Traders, were a group of business persons who traded, and in return they received profit. The next class were craftsmen. They were known as skilled manual workers. One of the lowest classes in Persia were the peasants. Peasants were people who were usually farmers or some sort of laborers. The lowest social class were the slaves. They had the least power in Persia and they had no rights.

Both countries had social classes created by wealth differences. Slave trade was common in both Rome and Greece. In both of these countries slaves came from the low income families, and had no rights. Both the Greek and the Roman believed in hierarchy. In both society's men had more power over women.
Rome and Greece had major differences in their social classes. Women in Greece were not citizens, however, women in Rome were. In Greece a woman could own property but not sell it. While in Rome women could own and sell property. In Greece when women wanted to go out they had to be accompanied by a man, however in Rome they could go out as they pleased. In Greece women were valued for managing the house hold. In Rome, society was controlled by the government, while in Greece it was controlled by the Athens.

In both Persia and Greece there were many different social classes. Again, both the lowest classes were slaves and they did not have any rights. Both the Athens and the Royal Family had the most power and wealth out of the different social classes. There were also classes of trade and labor in each of these societies.
Persia was controlled by the Royal Family, unlike in Greece where it was controlled by the Athens. In Persia women had a lot more rights then those in Greece. Persian women were mostly equal to men while in Greece, women were not even considered citizens. Persia had more classes that had a more significant role in society unlike Greece where the decisions were mostly up to the Athens.

Ancient Greek Military
In both Rome and in Persia they had different social classes. Rome and Persia had similar rulers who ruled over many different people and cultures. They both maintained their empire through trade but followed different methods. Also, men generally had more power over women. In both of their countries the slaves came from the lowest class and had no rights.
In Rome the highest social class was determined by who was chosen from the second class. While in Persia you were born into the Royal Family. In Persia the military was granted more rights from the king. In Persia women had more rights then they did in Rome. Even though women in Rome were citizens they were not allowed to have a significant role in society. In Rome the Senators chose the emperors but did not have a say in the decisions the emperor made. While in Persia people did not choose the king but priests had a say in the decisions the king made.

In conclusion Rome, Greece, and Persia all had many differences and similarities. Despite all of their differences they also had many things that were alike. Including how they set up their society. Even though they had different social classes they accomplished the same things.
