Where is the Kalahari Desert?
The Kalahari Desert is in Southern Africa covering Botswana and parts of Namibia. It extends for over 900,000 miles.

It is wetter in north and east parts. Its mainly made up of a type of acacia known as the camelthorn tree. The camelthorn manufactures nutrients that let other plants grow around its base which gives shade for the animals.

Climate
- In winter the air is dry and the temperature is around 25 degrees celcius. Nights are very cold.
- In summer it can get up to 40 degrees celcius and higher. Their annual rainful is rarely more than 100mm. Precipitation is only expected in December and April.
