The Cherokee tribe "Under mounting pressure to give up what land remained, a small group of Cherokee leaders signed the Treaty of New Echota that year, agreeing to relocate the entire Cherokee Nation to western lands where some of the tribe (who became known as Old Settlers) had already moved. "

Cherokee Indians were a village people. They constructed a circle-shaped dwelling out of plaster, sticks, and river cane. They used thatch to cover the roofs and left a tiny opening in the middle to allow smoke to escape. For ceremonial purposes, the Cherokees also constructed larger, seven-sided structures.

Beadwork

Beadwork was a very pretty looking piece of art that the Cherokee would use to decorate clothing and accesories.

Beadwork by Cherokee has meanings, lots of the meaning were lost overtimes but modern day Cherokee beaders have their own meaning that reflect on stories of the past. Beadwork is important to the Cherokee tribe because its an example of their art and work, and its a tradition that is still going on. I can infer that the Cherokee tribe valued artwork and mindset over hunting and war.
