Finally he has someone to take care of him! This is were they start on there trip. They are walking along till night had came and they all stopped to rest. In the morning they realized that Marial was gone! He had been eaten by a lion. Now every time he was scared his uncle would say "I have a gun, I will shoot any lion
that comes"
Then something happened that made things worse. They have to cross a huge dessert to Ethiopia .They would have to cross the Nile River. When they arrived Salva was in awe of the skill of the people that lived on the Nile. When night came, the mosquitoes arose. It was impossible for Salva to sleep. The mosquitoes just won't stop coming.
When day came, they made boats of Papyrus plant. It took two days to cross. When they got across, they reached the desert. Salva only had a small cord that his uncle advised him to only take small sips of. They lost a lot of people on the way. Then soldiers came and took his gun.
They asked him if he was with the resistance.. He said no and they tied him up to a tree. Then, three shots fired.
This this almost made him feel stronger, after two were gone it made him feel stronger? Now he had to carry on and go to that refugee camp. Meanwhile he was defending for himself begging for scraps and was not treated like he was with his uncle. When he got there he saw millions of people! And never thought he would be there for long. NEVER.
Never. That might be exaggerated.
Meal after meal it had been six years. Rumors had been going around that the camp would close. No, Salva thought no. Why would they close the camp? It had been soon confirmed by everyone. Soon enough, people in Helicopters came and starting blazing their guns and chasing them towards the Gilo River. The Gilo River was in a season where the rapids were big. But the Gilo River was known for something else, crocodiles. So many people died that day, but Salva was a survivor. He thought there was refugee camps in Kenya. So he decided he would go there.

To Kenya and Beyond!
Salva ended up leading a group of 1,500 boys to a refugee camp in Kenya. It took them a year and a half. There were many that were too sick and tired to go on so he had to leave them behind. But when he got to Kenya it was a sad refugee camp. There were walls outside of that made it feel like a prison. So, He left to a new refugee camp in Kenya. It was no different from the one before. But he meets an aid worker named Michael. Michael teaches him English and volleyball. But them Michael left. was no Life was not good until something happened that changed his life
forever.
Soon enough, Salva was chosen to go to Rochester, New York.. Salva has a hard time adjusting to the new technology in Rochester. But soon enough, he was a part of the family. His new "parents"(Chris and Louise) were very welcoming and kind to him. Salva lived in Rochester for six years. It was a regular day when he woke up and logged onto the family computer and checked his email. There was a email that immediately caught his attention. "Stomach Surgery for your father." He read the words over and over again. "They have found my father!" He ran through the house saying the words over and over again. It took months of planning and preparing so Salva could visit his father. When he arrived, his father was in denial, but he accepted it and was as joyous as one could be. All of Salva's family was alive except for his oldest and youngest brother's. This inspired Salva to start his own business.

Stomach Surgery for your father
-------------------------------
Salva's hands trembled at the first presentation of his non-profit. It was called water for South Sudan. For the first 11 years of his life, water had to be fetched. from a watering hole. The water was brown and dirty and made people sick when someone drank it. That was the sickness that Salva's father had that made him have surgery. He made a non-profit that made a faucet for each village so they could have clean water. Salva's journey has inspired and impacted many lives to make the world a better place
