If the adjective finishes in -Y:

Change the Y into I and add -ER

For example,

FUNNY: My brother is FUNNIER than my cousin.

If the adjective ends in CONSONANT - VOWEL - CONSONANT.

Double the last letter and add -ER

For example,

BIG: That apple is BIGGER than the other.

SPECIAL ADJECTIVES

special cases

GOOD and BAD are special.

The comparative of GOOD is not GOODER, it's BETTER.

The comparative of BAD is not BADDER, it's WORSE.
