The lesser kestrels migrate from Africa to Israel.
They migrate singly or in flocks of less than 50, at height of around 2,000 metres.

The Lesser kestrels arrive to Israel. the males arrive first and search for food and a place to nest and the females arrive second, some time after them.
In Israel 60% of the Lesser Kestrels nest in 2 main areas: Alona (Ramat Hanadiv) and in Jerusalem.
They come back every year and every time to the same nesting areas.
They nest in places where people live, inside roofs and cracks in buildings.

The males and females mate with each other. first the male tries to impress the female , later he flies to her and they begin the short mating.

The females lay the eggs and nest them for 28 days.

The chicks stay in the nest for a month, until they grow independent and strong enough for the long trip back to Africa .

The Lesser Kesrels migrate back to Africa.
