Vision Board

I am not very mindful currently. I have noticed that I distract myself with tasks to avoid having to deal with events within that moment. I lack the emotional intelligence to engage with the present moment, especially when it is a negative experience. I have a weird relationship with stress. When I encounter stress, I become anxious and emotional. At the same time, I thrive off of stress. I noticed it makes me become more productive because I view it as a problem I need to solve.

Mindfulness During Stress

To be mindful during stress by being in the moment and using the MAC steps. I will allow the stress to grow and mature me. I will also express gratitude for the moment and my life.

My living environment is my refuge. Although, I am not satisfied living in the city and state that I currently reside in, my home is my place of peace and tranquility. The flow of the rooms, colors, decor and the mood created was intentional so that my husband and I are able to unwind and feel at ease as soon as we walk through the door. My home is one of two places I go to recharge as I am an introvert and deal with anxiety.

During my mindful breathing, I was made aware of sensations in my body. I noticed that my body was tense and stiff. I’ve been really tense lately so becoming more aware of this, I have plans to find the root and fix the issue. Besides being tense, my breath was calm, and my mind was devoid of any thoughts, so I was able to get some rest.

I currently do not take care of my body as much as I used to. Before I was working out five days a week, developed normal eating habits and a positive perspective on life. Due to moving to another state, getting settled in, family life and school, I have not been able to keep up with all the habits I developed. I plan on sitting down and working on a plan to get back into these habits.

  • Eat whole, nutrition dense foods
  • Drink water and stay hydrated
  • Continue workout schedule of 5x a week
  • Get quality sleep
  • Take breaks when I need to
  • Check in with myself and body through body scans

Before learning about rest, relaxation and recreation in the last module, I did not do much of anything to include them in my life. Currently, I take my dogs outside and play with them or just enjoy the warm sunlight. I listen to different genres of music as I find many genres relaxing. I take plenty of naps when my body needs rest. I’ve also gotten back in the habit of reading like I used to do.

The significant people in my life are my husband, parents and grandparents. I show up in my relationships by communicating with them frequently in an effective manner. I am more aware of their emotions and provide a listening ear when they need to speak on something. I perform any tasks or help in any way that I can to make their lives a bit easier and less stressful.

In five years, I see myself working in the healthcare field, taking care of either children or the elderly. My husband and I want to own a business and have a small family. I would also like to start traveling and exploring the world.

Next 5 Years

In the life of my dreams, I have a small family with my husband. We own a small business that we can build up in hopes to sell it. I want to travel the world for the purposes of leisure and to provide medical services to those who do not have access to it. I would prefer to live in another country to escape. I just want to positively impact communities and the planet in the ways that I can. I don’t have any dream life that is extravagant. I just want to survive, care and provide for my family, be happy and left alone to enjoy my peace.
