Writen for Middle School students - applicable to all ages
Gives a comprehensive dynamic lesson plan that is great for team teaching and for student leadership opportunities.
In the 11 sessions of this verse-by-verse study of the book of Romans, you will learn how you can be transformed from a sinner on course to getting what you deserve to the saint who reflects Christ’s very essence in your everyday life. If using in a group, personal study is needed between meetings (30-45 minutes, including a Scripture memory verse).
Collegiate level study/journal devotional.
Set-up to require homework prior to group time. (For instance the first lesson challenges everyone to read and annotate the entire book of Romans before starting to break it down into smaller portions.
The content is solid with historical and theological notes to aid in understanding. It takes learning and makes it student directed.
We'll need to reformat. It is a bit much for where our kids are at. If we can make it more approchable - the content is foundational.
Todd really likes this one.... :)
We’ve all got insecurities, flaws, and struggles that we’re afraid to address. But if we can be brave enough to raise the questions, God will answer us. You’ve got questions. God’s got answers. Be brave. Ask.
Why can’t I get it together?
Am I as invisible as I feel?
What am I so afraid of?
There are 6 stand alone topical lessons in this book. Each is built around 5-6 devotionals.
It would need to be re-formatted for a student small group. Some illustrations need to be changed.
Most importanty - are the guys going to freak out that it is a "women's" Bible study, or will our guys see that these themes are more broadly applicable?
I'd love to work on reformating these into student-centered lessons (maybe Prezis?) I think the topics are super relavant to pretty much everyone.
Study of the five basic tenets of the Reformation:
Sola Scriptura (By Scripture alone)
Sola gratia (By grace alone)
Sola fide (Through faith alone)
Solus Christus (Through Christ alone)
Soli Deo gloria (Glory to God alone)
Lesson format is for small groups
Has 6 lessons, an introduction and then one lesson each on the "solas." Outside of the introduction, the lessons are stand alone and can be taken in any order.
Taps into history and theology and the foundations of the Christian Faith.
Soli Deo gloria might have an automatic tie to December...
