1. Go to follett.ssc.edu.ph

2. Click St. Scholastica’s College Manila Integrated Learning Resource Center

3. Click Log-in. Log-in with your user name and password

Username: ID number (ex. 1750036)

Password: Last Name (ex. reyes)- Please type in SMALL LETTERS only

1. The notification message will appear on the date of pick up for the reserved book.

BORROWING POLICY

CIRCULATION POLICY

The library staff will pull out the reserved book/materials from the shelves for disinfection and preparation for pick-up / delivery to the requesting patron. All requested books / materials will be ready A DAY AFTER from the date of the request.

A. BOOK DELIVERY VIA COURIER SERVICE*

Patron/ guardian should call / email the library and must provide the following details

a. Student name

b. Grade and Section

c. Delivery Address

d. Contact details (mobile/landline number)

e. Preferred courier service to deliver

*COURIER FEE WILL BE CHARGE TO THE PATRON

B. PICK-UP

1. Patron should call /email the library to inform the staff on their preferred pick up date and time of the requested books / materials.

2. All requested books/materials will be prepared and will be ready for pick up at GATE 1. Patron will be notified via text / call / email once the books/ materials are ready for pick up.

3. Pick up time is from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday only.

4. Parent / guardian should write the following details on the borrower’s card:

• Pupil’s full name

• Grade and Section

• Parent/Guardian’s full name

C. RENEWAL OF BOOKS/AV MATERIALS

Renewal of books/AV materials may be requested by the faculty and pupils or their guardian thru the following methods:

1. By phone(8-567-76-86 local 4450 or 4451)

2. By chat service (Talk to Ten-Ten)

3. By email (gslibrary@ssc.edu.ph)

D. RETURN OF BOOKS

A. Books must be sealed in plastic bags with the name of the student and grade and section written on a piece of paper inside the bag.

B. Parents / Patron returning the book must register in the book return Log form located at the Reception Area (Gate 1).

C. Library staff will send a notification thru email to acknowledge the book returned upon check –in of the books in the Library Management System.

D. Parents/guardians who opt to return their child’s books via courier should inform the library staff via phone or email before booking the courier and provide the following details.

1. Name of Pupil

2. Courier

3. Time of Booking / Expected date/ time of arrival at SSC Gate 1

4. Number of books to be returned

This is a live chat service using Google Hangouts where pupils or their guardians can communicate with the Librarian-on-Duty from Mondays to Fridays, ( 8:00 – 4:30 pm) (Thursday: until 3:30 pm only)

Pupils or the parents (in case of the lower grade pupils) may request for assistance on books, websites or other forms of references for their homework and research projects from the librarians through the library chat/call/email.

User education means educating the library patron on how to use the library and its services

Online Library Instruction Program

Online Library Instruction Program

Library Instructional Program will be provided to students per request of teachers via Zoom or Google Classroom. Requests can be made through the use of Google form. All LIP requests must be made one week prior to the activity for the librarians to prepare.

Online Tutorial on the use of Follett Library Management System

Librarian-on-Duty may provide online tutorial for faculty members and students on the use of the Follett Library Management System for the following purposes:

1. Searching books/ AV materials

2. Online Reservation

3. Viewing of loaned library materials

The library subscribes to an E-resource as well as provides its patrons a list of free ebooks, e-journals and e-magazines which can be found listed in the Library Management System.

Online Pathfinder

An assistance given to patrons in doing homework / research on a particular topic from both print and online resources.

The librarian provides its patron a list of books/materials which lead the patron through a process of researching a specific topic in a given subject in the best systematic way using the resources the library has to offer.

Online Storytelling

Grade School Librarians to read-aloud Filipino story books via Zoom or Google Classroom. Teachers may request a read-aloud session for their class through the use of Google forms.

Read-aloud requests must be made ONE WEEK prior to the date of activity for the librarians to prepare.
