INTRODUCTION

Argentina

The word Argentina is indigenous symbolizing “the land of many waters”. Today I will be discussing the culture of argentina. I have researched the culture of Argentina for the past week and have developed a strong sense of their culture.The areas I will be focusing on today will be Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina and Mendoza, one of the cities in Argentina ,I will be using these cities as culture sites which will help me explain and insight you about the culture of argentina

Argentina's Identity

The first thing I will focus on will be their cultural identity. Argentine culture is a blend of European customs and Latin American and indigenous traditions. Argentines are quite proud of their nation and its blended heritage as well as their ability to rise above adversity. They are also proud of their talents in many fields. Argentina is a very sports heavy country, mainly proved by the soccer events held in the capital which has a total of 4 soccer stadiums in the city

According to the last Latinobarómetro survey, as of 2018, 77.4% of the population of Argentina is Christian, 65.0% belong to the Roman Catholic Church, 11.7% is Evangelical, 20.6% are unaffiliated and 1.9% belong to other religions

Although Argentina's official language is Spanish, Argentinian Spanish is different from the Spanish spoken in Spain. In some ways it sounds more like Italian than Spanish. There are also many other languages spoken in Argentina, including Italian, German, English and French.

The structure of most Argentinian families reflects a belief in maintaining strong ties with your extended family, with events such as Christmas and birthdays being celebrated with large gatherings of family members. It’s also not uncommon for businesses to be run by several generations of the same family.
