- Usally the female elk care for the offspring by nursing and protecting them for the first year of there life.
- There offspring live with them in there herd until they are old enough to leave and find a different hurd. Male elk barely care for there offspring.
- Bulls often fight over mates and challenge them to a intense duel, usally the winner takes the mate.
- Bulls also bugle which is a loud mating scream to attract females and assert dominance.
