On late 1977, James "Jimmy the Greek" Anagnos, 66, was found dead in his bar, having been stabbed 20 times. When he was found, there was also hair found on him, and that hair was the piece of evidence that would solve it all.

CHARGES
No, there were no charges made. Due to the argument between Wright and Anagnos that happened prior to the murder of Anagnos, investigators got a search warrant to search Wright’s belongings. However, despite the fact that his washed clothes seemed to have had blood on them and the hair found seemed similar to the one found on Anagnos’ body, there was not enough technology in the laboratories to confirm or deny this, and therefore, no charges were brought against Wright. Wright died at the age of 50 due to alcoholism, and therfore, he spent no time in jail.
No charges were made.
As a result, there was no verdict.
Technology was not advanced enough to confirm/deny.
IMPORTANCE
This case is important because it was solely solved by hair, demonstrating the importance of information left behind in traces of hair. Hair left at a crime scene can confirm or deny whether a certain individual was there once the hair is analyzed to see whether there is a follicle on it holding DNA or not. The innovations of technology made it possible for analysts to analyze the hair found at a crime scene to confirm that it belonged to their suspect, Frank Wright.
This case is interesting because it was over 30 years old, and after three decades, the case was finally solved. I also find it interesting that still after all that time has passed, this case was still a priority. Also, I find it fascinating that the hair didn’t deteriorate, and it was still usable and able to produce results.
