The author defines freedom in Harrison Bergeron by showing what no freedom looks like. He shows how the government controls everything that the people do and think so that everyone's the same. Readers can learn from this what to much interference with your rights can do in an exaggerated way. This connects back to my definition of freedom by showing how these people have so little basic rights that they cant even use their own voice.

Franklin Roosevelt defines freedom as ”freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere.” this quote of the Four Freedoms Speech by Franklin Roosevelt relates to our meaning of freedom by saying that freedom should be for everyone because everyone deserves there basic rights and also be able to do whatever they want unless it is to harm someone or something else. Modern readers can learn many things about freedom from the speech, like how not everyone has the same rights as they do and maybe that there is a way to help people without violence and also help people without freedom. Modern readers can not only learn from this but also relate to this because there are a lot of people without freedom. Some people were born into it, while others made bad mistakes and that's what got them there, but they still deserve freedom.

We will continue our journey to our destination of peace and education.” Malala defines freedom as everyone having peace and education at any time of their lives, and how its going to help for world peace which will lead to freedom for everyone. Modern readers can learn that if we all have the right knowledge and education, we can all become at peace with each other, but if we use that education in the wrong way, it will still not be worse than the uneducated peoples plans. This quote supports our definition of freedom because freedom should be spread everywhere and not only adults, kids also because they are going to run the world in a couple years, and if they are not given the education that they deserve, then what is the point of having freedom.

Caged Bird

"his wings are clipped and his feet are tied so he opens his throat to sing."

The author defines freedom in this text by talking about the caged bird cant do what the free bird does. She talks about the free bird being able to fly and eat worms while the caged bird cant and has its wings clipped and cant even walk because its feet are tied. Modern readers can learn how people that don't have much freedom in the world might feel looking at people that do have freedom. This connects to my definition of freedom again by showing what freedom isn't. It shows how something is holding the bird which is the cage so the bird cant do what he wants like fly.
