WHY

Reasons Why YOU Should Greet your Students at the Door

  • Builds Community and Relationships
  • Builds Trust
  • Addresses Underlying Causes of Misbehavior
  • Proactive: we can get a overall "sense" of the current state of mind of child
  • Protective: we can then be purposeful in offering timely interventions
  • Offers Praise and Feedback not school related
  • Great opportunity to connect with students and gauge their Emotional Needs
  • Students may open about troubles they may have and we need to take time to listen to them
  • Brief 1 on 1 Conversation and Interactions
  • Model Acceptable Behaviors like eye contact, handshakes and posture
  • Opportunity to ask them question regarding things taught prior to class.
  • Ability to Teach Respectful Behaviors
